Hitachi RB24EAP REVIEW
This is my first gas powered blower and so I really don't have anything to compare it to besides it's own advertising. It works as described, it is very powerful, starts very easily, and runs for a long time on 1 tank of gas. I think it's fairly quiet for what it is too. My neighbor has a Poulan and it is much louder. The only problems I have with it are slight
1. The vibration.
Anything with an engine will have some vibration, and the design of the handle doesn't really mitigate any of that vibration, so it all goes into your hand. If I am only going to be using it for a few minutes it isn't bothersome, but after 10-15 minutes it starts to make my hand a little numb. I have found that wearing leather gardening gloves is enough to dull the vibration to a point where this doesn't happen though.
2. The air intake is on the left side. I am right handed, and I have to use this with my left hand or it is constantly sucking at my shorts. This isn't a huge deal at all, but I figured I would mention it.
Other than that I have found it to be an excellent quality tool and am very happy with it. I have also found that EVERYONE should have one of these! They are amazingly useful. I now sweep the garage to get all the big chunks and then use this to finish the job, same with the back porch. When it's time to inflate the kid's swimming pool I use this (Very large pool with large diameter opening for filling with electric pumps, but this does it way faster). When it's time to rake leaves I use this instead of a rake. When I need to clean sand/dirt/gravel out of the bed of the truck I use this and it's so much faster and easier than using a broom. I also use this to blow out all the Cheerios, crumbs, french fries etc. that the kids get in the truck floorboards. I just clean the truck like normal, then instead of grabbing the vacuum cleaner I grab the blower. Open up both sets of doors to allow a wind tunnel effect and blow all that food into the yard where the bugs can take care of it. There are so many situations where using high velocity air is so much more efficient than any other method, I don't know how I got along without this Hitachi for so long!
